I agree. Like any other part of the business, a review of resource utilisation, effectiveness and efficiency need to be performed on an ongoing basis. What we see too often is that such a review is only performed an an annual basis in the form of an annual performance appraisal. This is hardly the way to manage employees well.


But that is only time that anyone takes stock of how well things are going, and that needs to change. Especially if you want to size your department effectively. You may find that some people are not pulling their weight and others pulling twice or three times the amount.]]></description>
